Who Can Participate: This is the only National Geographic Bee for homeschoolers in the Austin area. All homeschoolers in the greater Austin area, whether members of AAH or not, are welcome to compete. 

Anticipated # of Students: Minimum of 6 students required to be an official bee, 30max.  

Grade Levels:   For 4th  to 8th graders--you must register for the grade your student would be in public school.

Purpose:Each year thousands of schools in the United States participate in the National Geographic Bee using materials prepared by the National Geographic Society. The contest is designed to spark student interest in the subject of Geography.  Join this year’s Geography Bee and you could make it all the way to Washington, D.C.!

Practice Schedule: Practice at home:

• Use online study materials and take daily quizzes at National Geographic Bee Study --- this is the #1 best way to practice/prepare for the Bee!:
• Optional : Use the practice QUIZLETS created by other teachers. 

Competition Schedule:  The School Bee will be Saturday, January 20th from 10:00 am - noon at Highland Village Church of Christ in central Austin

Cost: DONATION!! To pay for space rental


Expected Parent Involvement:

  • The AAH National Geographic Bee is open for parents to attend and watch
  • Provide transportation to next level bee for winners
