We are pleased to announce the first secular homeschool choir classes for Austin!
CHOIR 1: FOR (K-2): Singing and Stompin’
Students learn to sing, keep a steady beat, and celebrate the varieties of rhythmic expression in folk songs from across the world using voices, shakers, sticks, and street drums. Students gain an understanding of the mathematical nature of music as they study written musical notation, improvise rhythms, sing, and play!
CHOIR 2: FOR GRADES (3-5): Our Hearts Soar in Melody
Students sing beloved songs, with special attention to the songs of Walt Disney, as they continue the study of rhythm and music literacy. Students focus on melody as they learn to sight-read and improvise melodies using Curwen hand signs and musical games. Students culminate their study in an optional performance for the public.
