What does it mean to be an American today? This single semester course, offered every other year, will prepare students to prepare in exercising their political responsibilities as thoughtful, informed citizens.
This year long course walks students through the process of writing a book and developing best practices. With Storygrid as our guide, we'll cover artistic process, character development, plot outlining, navigating the brainstorming process, using art journaling to gain clarity with your story, and so much more. Students will also have opportunity to receive one-on-one coaching with author and instructor Elora Ramirez. By the end of the year, students will have a completed manuscript with the option of moving forward in publication.
Not everyone wants to be a writer, but everyone needs to know how to write. In this year long course we'll discuss what it looks like to grapple with the written word in the real world, and why it's important to be able to take what's in our brains and put it on the paper or screen in front of us. Also covered: digital literacy, digital footprints, social media, and college essay writing. Students will have opportunity to receive one-on-one coaching with author and instructor Elora Ramirez.
